Reproduction Reproduction Reproduction is a perfect replica of the Chachapoyan Fertility Idol. The Golden Idol, as it is more commonly known, features in the opening sequence of Raiders of the Lost Ark. The prop was designed after the Dumbarton Oaks birthing figure, a possible Aztec artefact but something which most scholars now believe was made in the 19th century. In the mid-1990’s a prop replica company called ICONS planned to produce a replica of the idol for sale to the general public, and despite prototypes going ahead the project was never completed.
